Hammer was one of the first two residents of the sanctuary. Hammer had previously been rescued by our namesake, Jerry "Greeno," who saved Hammer from slaughter. Born in 2001, Hammer was a former Pace Horse. Before coming to the sanctuary for retirement, he traveled all over the US and Canada racing.
